Soil

A good reason for great wine: our soil

The Weinviertel is something unique – something that benefits not only us, but above all our vines.

Loess

In our region, ten kilometers north of Vienna at the beginning of the Weinviertel hills, fine rock dust has been deposited, which was blown to us by the west wind from the Alps during the Ice Age. In our region, ten kilometers north of Vienna at the beginning of the Weinviertel hills, fine rock dust has been deposited, which was blown to us by the west wind from the Alps during the Ice Age. In our area, the fine rock dust was finally trapped like a dust collector.

The small loess grains are excellent at storing water and nutrients. Our vines are therefore less susceptible to drought stress - perfect in times of climate change and years with little precipitation.

Day & night

In addition, our vineyards experience a constant interplay of heat during the day and cool temperatures at night, which gives the grapes great aromatic finesse and an unmistakable spicy complexity that is rarely found in white wines anywhere in the world.

We want to provide a stage for this uniqueness with each of our wines.
Our wines

The vineyards are located on a small hill in Putzing in addition to our home village of Eibesbrunn – both small villages with more vines than inhabitants. Due to the two very contrasting locations, we can show the special features of the individual sites and the influence of the respective microclimates in our wines.
