Small berries, intense aromatics, and beautifully healthy grapes are perhaps the three defining characteristics of this vintage.
As you will certainly have noticed, this has been an exceptionally dry year. Grapevines are naturally well adapted to dry conditions: their roots reach deep into the soil, while the loess soils typical of our region are particularly good at retaining water. Even so, rainfall this year was simply too scarce to provide the vines with enough water. This limited vine growth and, as a result, significantly reduced yields.
However, the small berries and their low juice content have resulted in beautifully concentrated aromas and flavours. While the wines are now completing their fermentation in the cellar and will be given some time to rest and develop, we can already reveal one thing:
Look forward to the 2026 vintage — its vibrant fruit and remarkable intensity promise to shine beautifully in the glass!
